Hello Lions, hope you are having a wonderful day! Coleman Tech is partnering with Toussaint Academy. Toussaint Academy is a licensed group home serving homeless youth in San Diego County ages 14-18. Toussaint Academy provides support and opportunities to at-risk youth who have faced unimaginable challenges. Since 1992, the academy has delivered a comprehensive array of services to help residents with the life skills necessary to become independent, contributing members of society. By connecting youth with caring adults, Toussaint Academy emphasizes each individual’s strengths while providing them with opportunities to learn healthy behaviors. As a partner agency of Father Joe’s Villages they share the mission to help our neighbors in need break the cycle of homelessness and poverty. If you would like to learn more about the academy here is a link to their website; http://www.toussaintacademy.org/index.html

Below is a message from ASB and Advisors:

Hello Parents, Guardians, Students and Staff,

We have exciting news! ASB, in collaboration with Coleman Tech Charter High School, has adopted Toussaint Academy of San Diego as their year-long community service project. Toussaint Academy offers comprehensive services to homeless and runaway youth ages 14-18. Their mission is to provide a nurturing environment to support homeless youth in achieving success in all areas of their lives. Toussaint Academy assists homeless youth through residential, academic, vocational, health, and counseling services, fosters self-reliance, and models a strong, holistic foundation through a constant, compassionate continuum of education and supportive services. In Toussaint's words, "As a program of Father Joe's Villages we share the mission to help our neighbors in need break the cycle of homelessness and poverty. By promoting self-sufficiency through our innovative continuum of care model, our multidisciplinary programs, and the partnerships that come together in the in the spirit of our CREED, we teach, learn from, and challenge our neighbors to support themselves and one another." Coleman Tech Charter High School's goal is to work with Toussaint to increase community awareness, build fellowship, and help teens in need. We are excited to participate in a community service project that benefits our peers, and we are committed to the furtherance of Toussaint's Mission to eradicate poverty. It is with the aforementioned thought in mind and our passion to help this worthy organization, we write this email to request donations. This Friday as CTCHS participates in a school-wide community service project, the curtain opens

with ASB announcing our partnership with Toussaint Academy and we hope we can count on YOU to help us achieve our collective goals.

For the balance of the 2015-2016 school year, ASB pledges to work toward the elimination of poverty while establishing solid multi-level partnerships within our CTCHS community. To find out more about our short and long-term plans, please contact Ms. Lowenstein or Ms. Jokanovic. To participate in the ASB's fundraiser, please review the email below from Toussaint’s program manager, Danielle Bush, in connection with donation suggestions. Toussaint Academy is delighted to accept clothing for Toussaint's Golden Token Store, (a place at the facility the residents can shop with tokens they have earned in the program) and other items listed below. Ms. Lowenstein will make sure all items are delivered safely and expeditiously to Toussaint.Remember, your donation is not only a donation for today; every donation raises awareness, carries hope, and lays the groundwork for a shared consciousness of giving for tomorrow and tomorrow's morrow. Any and all donations are welcome. Plus, it is a fantastic way for students to learn about community service in partnership with teens and earn community service hours. ASB Executive Board will determine how many community service hours students will receive for their donations at a later date.

ASB is grateful for your continued support of CTCHS and we thank you in advance for your help in assisting students - our age, elsewhere in the county - succeed in the future.

Best wishes,

Sofia Lowenstein, Mitra Jokonovic, and the entire ASB class of 2015-2016
